Objectives

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the backgrounds, purposes, and tasks of various types of work machine control systems. Topics covered include identifying typical applications and uses of work machine control systems, as well as sensors and actuators.

During the course, students will learn to apply various sensors and actuators in work machine control systems. They will learn to design and specify typical control systems for work machine and the functional sequences implemented through them.

Students will be acquainted with the fundamentals of machine safety and will be able to consider machine safety in the design of machinery control systems.

Students will be able to design and implement software for work machine control systems, as well as test and commission the system.

Upon completing the course, the student:
-understand the typical applications of various types of work machines
-can identify sensors and actuators related to the control system of a work machine
-is capable of designing and implementing a typical control system and sequence for work machines
-is familiar with the fundamentals of machine safety and can integrate its principles into the design and implementation of work machine control systems
-is able to apply acquired knowledge to design and implement simple control systems.
-can describe and document the structure and functionality of control systems related to work machines
-is able to report on the results of their work.
