HUBS Pre-incubator is an 8-week program that supports you in taking the first steps towards entrepreneurship. You will get tools for refining and conceptualizing your business idea. Pre-incubator also offers you insights on how to build a successful team. Join us and develop your business idea to the next level – together with the team and coaches!
HUBS Pre-incubator is targeted for teams or individuals aiming to develop business idea. We work closely with our partners and Tampere startup ecosystem (e.g. Tribe, Red Brick Accelerator) and you will get introduced to the local operators and teams. We have several visiting experts and real-life cases from experienced entrepreneurs which will definitely inspire you!
After this program, you:
- can apply lean development tools in enhancing a business idea
- can apply value creation logic for developing your business idea
- understand the principles of sustainable business and can apply these
- have the ability to work constructively and responsibly in a multidisciplinary team
- have the ability to lead a team and yourself and develop solutions
- be able to independently develop your own and your team’s competencies
- be able to work systematically and consistently under pressure
- have developed your presentation and sales skills and your ability to pitch your business ideas.

The students and the coach tailor the exact content based on team-specific / individual needs.
The course includes mandatory lessons on Lean Startup methodology and business development.
In addition, teams are instructed to read articles, literature and study other online materials on relevant entrepreneurial themes.
The gained knowledge is applied to practice with various validations, evaluations, and business planning templates.
Each group has training sessions, where business idea development topics are handled in dialogue. The students / teams get to share their progress, ask for peer advice and receive coaching. Coaches, team colleagues, and a personal working life mentor support the business idea development process along the way. The student will draw a study plan and reports the results in a separately agreed manner (goals, outcomes and reflection of the learning process documented).
Assessment criteria, pass/fail
Approved when you have demonstrated independent and self-conducted work towards the goals. You have set the goals together with the team or independently, worked persistently towards them and evaluated the outcome bot in quality and quantity.
Failed if you have not succeed in planning and producing the self-development process as an individual or a member of a team. You have not mastered the learning targets in a way that could describe the meaning and progress in self- and team-development.

As a learning outcome of the course, the student(team) produces a portfolio that includes various partial plans and reflections related to the crystallization of a business idea, business planning and customer-oriented experiments. The tools and templates used in the portfolio will be defined separately at the beginning of the course. At the end of the course, the student(team) presents or "pitches" his / her business idea to the rest of the group and to the visiting judges.
Approved when you have demonstrated independent and self-conducted work towards the course goals. You have set the goals together or independently, worked persistently towards them and evaluated the outcome both in quality and quantity.
Failed if you have not succeeded in planning and producing the self-development process as an individual or a member of a team. You have not mastered the learning targets in a way that could describe the meaning and progress in self-and team development.
