Objectives

The aim of the course is to introduce the key concepts of usability and accessibility.

Upon completing the course, the student is able to
• Understand and be able to apply usability principles.
• Be familiar with the principles of information architecture and learn how to organize and present information clearly and comprehensibly.
• Understand the importance of accessibility in digital services.

Student
• recognizes basic usability concepts and understands their significance.
• can describe the fundamental principles of information architecture.
• identifies basic accessibility concepts and understands their significance.
• can describe simple usability issues and propose improvements for them.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Student
• understands usability principles more deeply and can apply them in practical design tasks.
• is able to plan and explain the principles of information architecture in more complex applications.
• identifies various accessibility challenges and designs solutions to address them.
• can evaluate usability through usability testing and adapt design accordingly.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Student
• demonstrates a deep understanding of usability principles and is able to apply them in various interface contexts.
• designs complex information architectures and justifies choices from a user experience perspective.
• shows strong proficiency in accessibility design and can integrate accessibility into a broader design process.
• can independently conduct comprehensive user testing and analyze results to further refine design.
