The overall assessment of the course is based on several assignments, which are explained on the first lesson. The course has an 80% attendance requirement, and you must complete at least 60% of the Moodle assignments. Multiple absences or lower Moodle activity will affect your grade.

Online until the end of February 2022. March and April - according to TAMK guidelines.

Exam schedules

The written exam is held on 23.04.2022 in Moodle. Re-take exam dates will be announced later. Company presentations are held on 09.04.2022 on campus unless the coronavirus situation prevents it from happening. In such a case, presentations will be online.

Assessment methods and criteria

• Written exam – 60% of the total course marks
• Company presentation at the trade fair – 25% of the total course marks
• Course participation (participation in class activities, contribution to discussions, pair and group work, independent work assignments) – 15% of the total course marks

Student workload

The course is 3 cr x 27 h = 81 h including:
• contact lessons – 7 x 3 h = 21 h
• independent study – 60 h

Content scheduling

• Oral skills (presentation, discussion, social interaction)
• Writing skills (e-mails, technical summaries)
• Grammar revision as needed

Completion alternatives

If the student has completed corresponding studies at another university or university of applied sciences or has extensive work experience where the working language is English, the student may apply for credit transfer or recognition of competence through Hyvähot/Creta system.

Such cases have to be discussed with the teacher at the start of the course, and the student may be required to complete additional assignments to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
