Objectives

Live Event Technology basics and audiovisual planning course introduces both theoretical and practical skills that are essential when working in live events.

The student is able to:
Identify microphone techniques used in live event production.
Understand the essential devices and equipment of an analogue environment.
Follow the basic signal flow of a modern loudspeaker setup.
Understand the basics of electricity and rigging.
Understand the basics of light design for events.

Content

Basics of live sound, such as microphone techniques, analogue mixing environments, and simple signal flow of modern loudspeaker setups, will be covered. Basics of electricity and rigging will be incorporated. Basics of light design for events are introduced as well.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student shows a basic understanding of basic live event production. The student knows how to interact in discussions related to the field on a basic level and how to give and receive feedback. The student participates in class, assigned work and reporting.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student shows a good understanding of live event production. The student demonstrates a good ability to interact in discussions related to the field and is good at giving and receiving feedback. The student works actively in class and assignments and delivers well-structured reports.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Student shows an exceptional understanding of live event production. The student demonstrates an excellent ability to interact in discussions related to the field and is excellent at giving and receiving feedback. The student works actively in class and shows a strong commitment to assignments and reports.
