Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to use diverse approaches of applied fine art projects and productions. Student is able to use project management skills in applied fine art projects.
Student is able to analyse their know how, used production techniques and outcomes. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.
Students know the possibilities of sustainable production methods.

Content (course unit)

Student produces expanded and advanced applied fine art project.
Student works in a multidisciplinary scene with companies, customers or institutions.

Practical training and working life cooperation

Students can take part in virtual gallery -project for fine art graduates: City of Tampere, Sara Hilden museum, Nokia, Gallery Himmelblau, Tampere or Womex
Virtual Medicine – Creative competence for social healthcare, Hospital District of Helsinki’s Children’s Hospital, Pirkanmaa Hospital District, Turku University Hospital, and elderly care and senior service producers.

Further information

The students work with various projects and medium connected to the themes of Applied fine art-courses. The courses focus on different scenes in contemporary art for example on Community-based Art, Site Specific Art and Games, Emerging media, XR. Teachers: Tiiu Baldwin, Fanni Niemi-Junkola, Sari Tervaniemi, Juha Suonpää.
- Virtual Medicine – Creative competence for social healthcare: The national project is implemented in multidisciplinary cooperation between creative field and social and health care professionals, companies and organisations such as the Hospital District of Helsinki’s Children’s Hospital, Pirkanmaa Hospital District, Turku University Hospital, and elderly care and senior service producers. The project begins on 1 August 2018 and ends on 31 December 2020.
- 4th year students working for the 2020 final Degree Show/ Bachelor´s Thesis and virtual gallery will focus on planning and working in this area. Kick off by Sari Tervaniemi and Fanni Niemi-Junkola
