Objectives (course unit)
The student: - understand the philosophical, methodological and ethical principles of educational research; - is familiar with different kinds of qualitative research designs and methodological approaches and understands the basics of the various methods; - learns the basic principles of data collection, data analysis and the interpretation of research results in qualitative educational research; - can implement a small-scale qualitative research project in education and report it scientifically.
Content (course unit)
This course explores the methodological and philosophical principles of educational research, research designs and methodological approaches, basic analysis methods and research ethics. The course also guides the student in understanding the structure and process of qualitative research projects. The student practices data collection, data analysis, and the scientific reporting of the research results.
Prerequisites (course unit)
Previous studies require reseach methodology course on basic studies in education (KASP5/KASP05/KAS.KAA.050) or a study module on basic education in education (25 ECTS credits).Students of the degree program must complete compulsory research methodology studies in intermediate studies before the Bachelor's Thesis seminar.
