Objectives (course unit)
After completing the course, you will be able to design a product taking into account its manufacture and material. You will also be able to create 3D models and assemblies using technical documents. You will learn how to make 3D models that can be used for analysis, simulation and various manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing and as a basis for CAM tooling.
Content (course unit)
1. Creating different features in sketch mode - Drawing different types of lines - Defining boundary conditions - Dimensions - Trim and line handling features - Pattern and mirror features - Fillets and chamfers 2. Creating the basic features of 3D models - Extrusion and cut - Revolved features - Pattern and mirror features - Using auxiliary features in modelling 3. Material selection 4. Modifying the visual appearance

Assessment methods and criteria
Opintojako arvioidaan tentin perusteella. Mikäli viimeisen palautuspäivämäärään mennessä opiskelija ei ole palauttanut tenttiä, on hänellä mahdollisuus saada hyväksytty arviointi (arvosana 1), mikäli hän on palauttanut vähintään 50% tehtävistä.

Teaching methods
Opinnot suoritetaan kokonaisuudessaan verkossa Metropolian Moodle-oppimisympäristössä sekä tarvittaessa Zoom- tai Teams-alustojen kautta. Opinnot koostuvat opetusvideoista, kirjallisesta materiaalista ja harjoitustehtävistä. Voit suorittaa opintoja itsenäisesti omaan tahtiin opintojen aikataulun puitteissa.
