Student: is able to define and analyse the concepts of value-based thinking, patient-centeredness and effectiveness in radiography work understands value-based radiography in a social context is able to interpret and compare the effectiveness and benefits of different imaging modalities based on evidence is able to compare ethical perspectives related to economic efficiency, quality and patient centricity

Exam schedules

The deadline for assingments is 21st December 2025. If the assignments aren´t returned on the due date the students won´t be give any additional time. Students can´t return assignments by e-mail.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course is graded approved/failed. APPROVED The assignments have been successfully completed. The assignments have been returned by the given due dates. FAILED: The assignments have been completed inadequately and the instructions given have not been followed. The assignments have been submitted late.

Teaching methods

Value-based radiography course is completed as online-course. Lecture recording are in Finnish. The course includes articles in English. Assignments are to be done in Finnish. The course consists of: lecture recordings tasks done independently

Learning materials

All the literature can be found in Moodle.

Student workload

The course is 5 ECTS which equals 135 hours of work. The student's workload is divided between lecture recordings, reading research articles and writing assignments.

Content scheduling

The course consists of modules that open in a given order. Students have to finish one module before starting next one.

Completion alternatives

The course cannot be completed in elective ways.

Practical training and working life cooperation

This course doesn´t include clinical practice nor collaboration with working life.

Further information

By completing the assignments of the online exam or online implementation, the student assures that the demonstration of competence is based on independent work and ethical action. Cheating can lead to a temporary expulsion from a university of applied sciences for up to a year. Universities of Applied Sciences Act 932/2014, Section 38. In order to ensure independent competence in the online implementation, the teacher may, at their discretion, require the demonstration of competence in supervised conditions or by means of an oral examination.
