Objectives (course unit)
These outcomes focus on communication, professional scenarios, and cultural aspects relevant to business contexts and aim to equip learners with the language skills and cultural awareness necessary to succeed in a professional Spanish-speaking environment.
Content (course unit)
1. Listening Comprehension: • Understand the main points of clear, standard speech in business settings, such as meetings, presentations, or phone conversations. • Follow instructions, explanations, and discussions on familiar work-related topics. 2. Speaking: • Participate in professional conversations, express opinions, and make requests or offers. • Give short presentations about business topics, such as company overviews, product descriptions, or market trends. • Conduct small talk and network effectively in professional environments. 3. Reading: • Understand workplace documents, including emails, memos, meeting agendas, and product descriptions. • Analyse information in business reports, advertisements, or professional websites. 4. Writing: • Write clear, structured emails and messages for professional communication. • Draft short business documents, such as meeting summaries, proposals, or inquiries. Business-Specific Vocabulary and Grammar 5. Use vocabulary relevant to business topics such as finance, marketing, sales, customer service, and human resources. 6. Apply appropriate formal and informal language registers in professional contexts. 7. Use grammar structures commonly needed in business Spanish, including: • Conditional tense for making polite requests or proposals. • Subjunctive for expressing recommendations, doubts, and goals. • Commands for giving instructions.
