Objectives (course unit)
Students: - master the vocabulary of their own field both in written and spoken language - are able to use Finnish in professional situations - are able to communicate clearly in Finnish, in both writing and speaking, in multiprofessional work communities - manage challenging interview and instruction situations in Finnish, - have sufficient skills needed for applying for jobs and are able to describe their work environments and tasks in Finnish, - are able to retrieve information and to apply it in professional contexts - understand the difference between formal and informal language and are able to use them appropriately
Content (course unit)
- written and oral communication (e.g. presentations, meetings, speaking on the phone, e-mail, job application) - giving presentations and instructions and carrying out interviews - writing a thesis abstract - retrieving information and applying it in professional contexts
