Objectives (course unit)

Opintojakson suoritettuaan opiskelija: - tunnistaa monitorilta ja 13 EKG tulosteesta yleisimmät hitaat rytmihäiriöt ja ymmärtää niiden anatomiset ja fysiologiset syntymekanismit sekä vaikutukset

Content (course unit)

Kurssilla syvennytään EKG:n tulkintaan ja hitaiden rytmihäiriöiden muodostumiseen sekä mahdollisiin niitä aiheuttaviin syihin. Kurssilla opetellaan havaitsemaan ja tunnistamaan erilaiset hitaat rytmihäiriöt monitorilta ja 13 EKG-tulosteelta. Kurssi on suunnattu kaikille terveydenhuollon ammattilaisille, jotka tarvitsevat perustiedot EKG:n tulkinnasta ja hitaiden rytmihäiriöiden tunnistamiseksi. Ennen kurssille osallistumista suositellaan perehtymistä sydämen anatomiaan ja fysiologiaan sekä EKG:n perusteisiin. Keskeiset sisällöt: - Hitaat rytmihäiriöt ja niiden muodostuminen sydänsähkökäyrälle - Vaikutukset verenkiertoon - Sinusbradykardia - Sairas sinus oireyhtymä - Junktionaalinen rytmi - Eteis-kammiokatkokseien aiheuttamat bradykardiat

Prerequisites (course unit)

Suositellaan sydämen fysiologian ja anatomian opintojen perusteet sekä EKG:n perusteet opintojaksojen suoritteita pohjatiedoksi ennen kurssin suorittamista.

Teaching methods

The course is completed online in the Moodle learning environment. It can be studied independently at your own pace during the period from September 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026. The course includes written online study materials, video lectures, required assignments to progress through the course, and a final comprehensive exam. The course is assessed based on the completion of the required assignments necessary for progression and a successfully passed final exam. Assessment: Pass/Fail. The course must be completed no later than two months after enrollment. Course completions are evaluated/recorded in the study register on the last working day of even-numbered months.

In the course, the learning materials include the readable and recorded content presented in the learning environment, as well as separately linked or designated material provided for learning purposes there.

Further information

For Open University of Applied Sciences students, the course fee is 15 euros. Alternatively, an annual fee of 350 euros is available, covering tuition for a 12-month period. High school and vocational school students can study free of charge at Savonia Open University of Applied Sciences. Graduates from vocational institutions or high schools in the North Savo region (from January 1, 2023 onwards) are eligible to study for one year free of charge at Savonia Open University of Applied Sciences, provided that the studies begin within one year of graduation.
