Could I Become a Public Health Nurse? - Introductory Course (1cr)

Objectives (course unit)

After completing the course, the student:
• understands the main structure of the public health nurse degree programme and the health and functional capacity requirements of the profession
• has become familiar with key themes related to public health nursing that are included in future studies, and has gained an understanding of the broad scope of the degree
• understands the types of tasks a public health nurse may perform after graduation and the competencies required for the profession
• has become acquainted with TAMK as a potential place of study

• contents, learning methods, and learning environment of the public health nurse education

Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)

Pass Criteria:
• The student knows the structure of the public health nurse degree programme and understands the health and functional capacity requirements of the profession
• The student can identify key themes related to public health nursing that are included in future studies and understands the broad scope of the degree
• The student knows the types of tasks a public health nurse may perform in working life and understands the essential competencies required for the profession
• The student has an understanding of TAMK as a place of study
• The student has demonstrated their competence by completing the course assignments

Fail Criteria:
• The student does not recognize the structure of the public health nurse degree programme and does not understand the health and functional capacity requirements of the profession
• The student does not identify themes related to public health nursing included in future studies and does not understand the broad scope of the degree
• The student does not know the types of tasks a public health nurse may perform in working life and does not understand the essential competencies required for the profession
• The student does not understand the services TAMK offers to students
• The student has not successfully completed the required assignments

Assessment methods and criteria

Kurssin kaikki tehtävät tulee suorittaa hyväksytysti, jotta saat suoritusmerkinnän. Kurssi arvioidaan hyväksytty/hylätty -arviointiskaalalla. Hyväksytty arviointi edellyttää tehtävien huolellista tekemistä. Tarvittaessa opettaja palauttaa tehtäviä sinulle takaisin täydennettäväksi.

Teaching methods

Kurssi koostuu täysin itsenäisestä työskentelystä ja sisältää videoita, tehtäviä, artikkeleita, erilaisia linkkejä ja testejä, joiden avulla saat kattavan kuvan terveydenhoitajaopinnoista TAMKssa.

Kaikki materiaali löytyy Moodle-oppimisympäristöstä.Kaikkiin materiaaleihin on sähköinen pääsy.

Student workload

Kurssi on yhden opintopisteen (1op) suuruinen ja vastaa siten noin 27 tuntia työskentelyä. Kurssilla on edistymisen seuranta, jonka avulla voit seurata etenemistäsi.
