Objectives (course unit)
After completing the course, the student
- knows how to dimension a simple hydraulic actuator
- identify different platform structures
- knows how to dimension a vehicle combination
-know the different superstructures
- know the structures of compressed air brake systems.
Content (course unit)
The course covers chassis structures, superstructures, dimensions, brake systems and hydraulics of heavy vehicles.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
Can identify and define chassis structural solutions used in heavy vehicles. Knows different ways of attaching the superstructure. The part dimensions a simple hydraulic actuator. Can work in a group. Recognizes his communication skills. Identifies important operating methods in one's field.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
Can measure the dimensions and weights of a combination of vehicles. Can choose the most suitable for the vehicle from different chassis components and justify their choice. Can cooperate responsibly and is ready to develop his interaction skills.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
Understands the chassis and superstructures used in a wide range of heavy vehicles. Can choose and measure the vehicle combination and can justify it. Can cooperate responsibly, flexibly and constructively. Develops both own and group interaction.
