Objectives (course unit)

The aim of the course is to become familiar with biochemical analysis methods and the use of analysis equipment.
After completing the course, the student
• masters the use of the most common laboratory equipment and tools in the field of biochemistry
• performs analyzes using the most common biochemical analysis methods
• calculates and interprets the results of analyses
• documents and reports his work according to instructions
• works smoothly and safely in the biochemistry laboratory

Prerequisites (course unit)

Biochemistry

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student knows how to conduct analyzes using the most common biochemical analysis methods. The student understands the principles of analysis methods at a basic level. The student reports his results, but there are significant flaws in their interpretation. There are shortcomings in the student's laboratory work. The student participates in the group's activities.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student knows how to perform analyzes using the most common biochemical analysis methods. The student knows how to work in the laboratory in a self-directed manner, mainly with the help of written instructions, and is able to plan and schedule his work. The student understands the principles of the analysis methods and knows how to interpret the results obtained and evaluate their reliability. The student is able to report the results clearly. The student works smoothly in the laboratory. The student knows how to work in a group and plan the group's work in the laboratory.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student can fluently and skillfully perform analyzes using the most common biochemical analysis methods. The student knows how to work in the laboratory in a planned and self-directed manner, mainly with the help of written instructions. The student demonstrates problem-solving skills and organizational skills in his work. The student understands the principles of analysis methods in detail. The student knows how to interpret the results in a versatile way and evaluate their reliability critically and thoroughly. The student knows how to report the results expertly.
