Objectives (course unit)
The student develops following skills:
• Orchestral playing
• Active listening
• Section playing, following, and leading
• Playing in different ensembles
• Orchestral musician’s work practices, ethics, and well-being
• Preparation for professional life and auditions
Content (course unit)
• Collaboration with Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. Professional orchestral musicians serve as advisor
• Trainee activities with Tampere Philharmonic and Finnish Military Bands through auditions
• Various productions from chamber Music to opera
• Different ensembles and musical styles
• Repertoire sessions
• Orchestral excerpts

Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)
The student works professionally and responsibly as part of an ensemble during rehearsals and concerts, in accordance with the work ethics of a professional orchestra.
