Objectives (course unit)
Students have learned the principles and basic structures of modal and tonal polyphony and they have an ability to apply that into writing music.

• 2 and 3-voice (optional) counterpoint

Competence corresponding to the extensive curriculum of Finnish music institute.
Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)
The student actively participates in the teaching. The exercises demonstrate competence of polyphonic writing. The exercises are in accordance with the given style model and do not have significant voice-leading errors
