Objectives (course unit)
Dance History:
The student has delved into the history of Western art dance. They recognize the aesthetics, stylistic trends, and cultural-historical perspectives of different eras.
• The student can analyze, listen, and engage in discussions about dance history, understanding the various meanings and connections between historical and contemporary dance expressions.
• The student can identify and name dance creators from different periods as part of the historical continuum.
Theater History:
• The student gains an understanding of the evolution of theater and comprehends its societal impact.
• The student can analyze and discuss theater history, grasping the significance of historical trends and their connections to contemporary theater.
Content (course unit)
The course covers various historical theater- and dancestyles, performance traditions, and their historical context from antiquity to the present day.
