Objectives (course unit)
This course deepens the understanding of the principles, key phenomena, methods, and various operational environments related to adult guidance.
Upon completing the course, students will:
• Understand the central principles and legislation guiding adult social work, and be able to apply them to enable client participation
• Identify different contexts for implementing adult social work, grasp the overall service system, and recognize development needs in the service system from a client-centered perspective
•Be familiar with the client work and communication methods required in adult social work, and act accordingly in client encounters and interdisciplinary settings
• Critically analyze societal trends and developments that impact adult social work

• Legislation related to social work and adult social work.
• Various operational environments in adult social work.
• The role of a social worker in adult social work.
• Work orientations and methods in the social work field, as well as ethical considerations in adult social work.
• Current phenomena and specific issues in adult social work
