Objectives (course unit)
After having completed this course the students will be familiar with the contents of interna-tional and European law.
The students
- understand the main concepts and principles of international and European law
- are able to locate and evaluate information from sources of international and Euro-pean law
- can solve legal problems using reasoned analysis.
Content (course unit)
What are
- powers and functions of the EU institutions and bodies?
- sources and application of the European law, also known as EU law?
- nature, structure and sources of public international law?
- relationship between national, European and international law?
- private international law, also known as conflict of laws?
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student has reached the course objectives sufficiently. They know the basics of key concepts, principles and rules of this area of law and are able to apply them to factual situations sufficiently.

The student has reached the course objectives well, although their skills and competences are somewhat in need of further development. They know the main concepts, principles and rules of this area of law widely and are able to apply them to factual situations using reasoned analysis.

The student has reached the course objectives excellently. They have mastered the main concepts, principles and rules of international and European law and are able to apply them to complicated factual situations using reasoned analysis.
