Objectives (course unit)

The student
- is able to interact with people of different ages and in different situations;
- is able to monitor and assess vital signs of patients of different ages;
- is able to work in different teams;
- is able to utilise evidence-based practice.

Content (course unit)

- vital signs of patients of different ages
- working in acute situations
- resuscitation
- teamwork skills
- decision-making
- medication and fluid therapy of patients of different ages
- working in life threatening situations
- competence in patient safety

Simulations are carried out in the fourth or fifth semester

Teaching methods

Simulations in Tampere Skills and Simulation Center according to the schedule.

Learning materials

Theory from the subject in question.

Student workload

54 hours.
All simulations: Emergencies, Mental health, Surgical Nursing, Perioperative nursing, Medical Nursing and Paediatric Nursing are mandatory.

Full time, active participation in simulations is mandatory.
