Objectives (course unit)

The aim is to provide skills for creating static websites using markup language and style sheets.

Upon completion of the course, the student will:
- understand the role of markup language as the foundation of website structure
- be able to use markup language elements to produce website content
- understand the basics of style language and its usage, and be able to apply it to create the layout of websites
- understand the importance and principles of responsive design
- understand the basics of scripting language

- Basics of Markup Language and Style Language
- Principles of Responsive Design
- Options and possibilities of different layout solutions

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student is able to:
- create error-free web pages using validation during checking.
- create responsive web pages with a mobile-first approach.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student masters:
- the various element possibilities provided by markup language
- the versatile use of style language in building page layouts

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student demonstrates:
- a profound understanding of using style language in building layouts and is capable of planning and implementing even complex layout designs.
- the ability to use scripting language to enhance interactivity on web pages.
