Objectives (course unit)

The student gets to know the description methods of technical drawing and their application in communication in the construction industry. The student becomes familiar with computer-aided drawing in two dimensions, three dimensions and using information modeling as a method. The student achieves basic communication skills with the help of construction drawings.

Content (course unit)

Projection from a three-dimensional object into a two-dimensional drawing. Preparing a two-dimensional CAD drawing. Three-dimensional models and building data models. Using point clouds and other reference data. Data transfer and IFC.

Prerequisites (course unit)

Digital tools, basics of information technology or similar basic knowledge of information technology.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student knows how to read and produce conventional 2D construction drawings by herself/ himself with the software commonly used in the field, as well as use drawing markings and layouts according to the industry standard.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

In addition to the above, the student can explain the principles of data modeling, the use of a point cloud in producing a 3D model, and independently search for solutions to the problems of the subject area of the course, making extensive use of source materials.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

In addition to the previous ones, the student recognizes the development needs of documentation in the construction industry and is able to develop their operating methods relying on digital methods.
