Objectives (course unit)

The student
- Is fluent in use of English
- Is able to obtain information and read professional literature
- Has capasity of using the professional terms and increasing the general vocabulary
- Distinguishes the stylistic and cultural differences between spoken and written language
- knows how to outline the essentials of a text and how to write analytical and structured text.

Content (course unit)

- Professional sources of information.
- Professional texts, documents, tech riders, directions and instructions.
- Collecting professional vocabulary.
- CV.
- Editing.
- Oral communication situations, small talk, telephone conversation and negotiations.

Location and time

The first lesson takes place on January 15 at 15-17. The course programme will be discussed in detail in this session.

Exam schedules

The course assessment does not include a written exam.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course involves a number of graded and pass/fail assignments, which form a portfolio. All tasks must be completed before a grade is awarded for the course. Details of the assessment criteria for each task are discussed on the course.

Content scheduling

Assignments are done during and between lessons, as group work and individual work. A detailed schedule will be discussed in the first meeting.

Through partial or full accreditation, based on equal studies of the same level or equivalent experience in professional work in the field of media in an English-speaking work environment.

Guidelines for using AI in this course implementation

If a student uses AI tools to assist with their learning tasks, they must cite the AI tools used and provide the prompts they used alongside their task responses. If a student presents AI-generated results as their own without citations, sources, and/or prompts, the teacher may reject the work or require it to be redone. The teacher has the right to ask the student if they have used AI in their learning task.
