Objectives (course unit)
The aim of the course is to give the student the skills to do the most common silvicultural work safely
After completing the course, the student:
• knows the basics of tree seeding and planting and young stand management
• can safely and efficiently use a clearing saw and knows how to maintain the saw
• is capable of performing forest cultivation tasks and maintaining the used equipment
• can provide basic first aid at the workplace and is familiar with the fundamentals of working safely in forestry
Content (course unit)
Basics of forest tree seeding and planting and young stand management
Clearing saw operations, forest cultivation tasks.
First aid training.
Occupational safety card training.
Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)
The course is considered completed when the student actively participates in chainsaw use training and practice, as well as in forest cultivation tasks. These achievements can also be recognized based on previous work experience or secondary level forestry education.
The successful completion of the course also requires participation in first aid training and occupational safety card training. Recognition for these training sessions is possible with a valid first aid (EA-1) card and occupational safety card
