Objectives (course unit)

The student can
• analyze the behavior of passive and active coupling computationally
• interpret circuit diagrams and determine their electrical and functional function
• make use of data sheets for electronic components
• dimension the simple connection
• design and make measurement connections
• use measuring instruments, make measurements and analyze their results.

Content (course unit)

Diode applications, transistor switch operation, power supplies. Transistor Amplifier Operation, Operational Amplifier Applicable Circuits. Time and frequency level behavior of switches. Computer simulations and laboratory measurements.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student knows the operating principle of diodes and transistors. The student recognizes the basic operation of a diode, a transistor and an operational amplifier from the circuit diagram. The student has basic skills in making electronic measurements.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student knows how diodes, transistors and operational amplifiers work. The student recognizes the basic operation of a diode, transistor and operational amplifier from a circuit diagram, and is able to find out by calculating the operation of the circuit. The student can simulate simple circuits.
The student knows how to make electronics measurements.
