Objectives (course unit)

In clinical training, the student applies the knowledge and skills
learned in theory to practice.

In the clinical training the student
• as a member of the team, can plan, implement and evaluate the imaging examinations and/or radiotherapy independently or under guidance based on personal goals
• can carry out appropriate radiation safety of the patient, health-care personnel and other persons
• can act appreciatively and respectfully towards patients and their family members as well as fellow workers
• follow privacy protection procedures in their work
• is able to reflect his/her own learning and continuously develop herself/himself
• can use what she/he has learned before

Content (course unit)

• clinical training in an imaging, nuclear medicine or radiotherapy unit according to the students personal goals

Prerequisites (course unit)

• clinical training in different modalities requires accepted theoretical studies of the study module in question
• practice in CT or MRI requires an approved performance of topographical anatomy
• a four-week basic clinical training in radiotherapy or nuclear medicine department must have been done before clinical training IV in the radiotherapy or nuclear medicine department
• the previous clinical trainings according to the personal curriculum must have been done

Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)

Pass:
• acts according to the radiographer's ethical instructions
• shows initiative and is cooperative
• can guide the patient and can implement the most common imaging examinations in accordance with the referral under guidance or participates in the planning and implementation of the patient's radiotherapy
• can act as a member of the team in situations related to radiation protection (patient, staff, escort and working environment)
• can operate radiological and radiotherapy equipment safely and appropriately
• is able to create confidential interaction and care relations with the patients
• is able to do realistic self-assessment, receives feedback and instructions
• can use what she/he has learned before

Fail:
• does not follow agreed working hours
• withdraws repeatedly from learning situations
• modality-specific goals or goals related to radiotheray are not met
• endangers patient safety
• does not follow privacy protection procedures
• does not observe an aseptic way of action
• there are factors which endanger safety in the use of radiological equipment
• there are repeatedly shortcomings in situations which are related to radiation protection
