Objectives (course unit)

Students master the basics of garage management.

Students are able to:
- make a layout and an equipment plan
- make an organization chart and recruit employees

Students know about the use of garage management software

Content (course unit)

Planning and executing automotive and industrial vehicle after sales operations. Layout and equipment planning, environmental issues, organization, workplace co-operation, personnel issues, work scheduling and economics, garage management and spare part sales software.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Can recognize and define different kind of machine choices and workshop layout. Recognize working methods in workshop, but can not explain choices to make. Work in a group. Recognize co-operation skills.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Can classify different kind of workshop working methods to each other. Can make a choice from machines and workshop layout and explain it. Can work responsible in group and is ready to improve co-operation skills.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Understands widely workshop working methods, layout and machines. Is able to choose machines and create new solutions. Can work responsible, flexible and co-operative in group. Is able to improve both own and group co-operation.
