Superviced Clinical Training 4, Cariological Oral Health Care and Oral Health Promotion (6 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

After completing the course, the student will be able to:
• act professionally, in accordance with ethical principles and legislation
• act in a manner that promotes patient and occupational safety
• work in a team in caries restorative care
• carry out preventive treatment of oral diseases
• support clients to take responsibility for their own oral health, using empowerment model of health promotion.

Familiarization in workplace guidelines
Cariology restorative care procedures
Preventive procedures according to the oral hygienist's area of responsibility
Use of empowerment model of health promotion methods in oral health care

Approved:
The student demonstrates mastery of the internship period's learning objectives and completes the tasks assigned for the internship period.

Failed:
The student does not meet the criteria for approval.

Työharjoittelu suun terveydenhuollon toimintaympäristössä, 4.periodilla.

Further information

Opintojakso on 4 viikkoa työharjoittelua, jolle osuu 1 arkipyhä. Arkipyhä vähentää työharjoittelun tunteja 7,5h.
Opiskelija saa olla pois työharjoittelusta 2 työpäivää oman tai lapsen sairauden vuoksi. Sairastumisista tulee ilmoitaa työpaikalle työharjoittelupaikan ohjeiden mukaan sekä ohjaavalle opettajalle. Tämän ylittävät sairauspoissaolot tulee korvata, jotta opintojaksosta saa hyväksytyn suorituksen.

Opiskelijan tulee osallistua orientaatioon koululla sekä suorittaa annetut kirjalliset tehtävät, jotta saa opintojaksosta hyväksytyn suoritusmerkinnän.
