Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)

Pass: The student demonstrates a basic knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.

Fail: The student has insufficient knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.

Location and time

The course begins at the start of the autumn semester and continues until week 9 of the spring semester.

Exam schedules

The first Exam will be available no later than the start of the course. A new exam will be opened at the end of each module's lecture sessions. Each exam and its two retakes are available for two weeks, giving a total of 2 + 2 + 2 = 6 weeks to complete the exam for each individual module.

Examination in the Exam system.

Learning materials

Exam tests are based solely on the examination material available in Moodle. The terms in the examination material are based on the book by Hokkanen, M. & Vierimaa, H. 2019. Tuki- ja liikuntaelimistön anatomia. Opiskelukirja. Sanoma Pro Oy. This covers all chapters except chapter 3, which is about the head region.

The images in the Moodle material also use, among other sources, the book by Platzer, Werner. 2014. Color Atlas of Human Anatomy, Vol 1. Locomotor System, Thieme Medical Publishers, Incorporated. This book is also available as an e-book in the TAMK library.

Additionally, good supplementary texts include VK Publishing's "Reittiopas ihmiskehoon" ja "Reittiopas ihmiskehoon- Opiskelijan työkirja".
