Objectives (course unit)

The course prepares students for reading, evaluating and utilising scientific information in nursing.

After completing the course, the student
• Is able to identify, search, evaluate and utilise health care information sources.
• Understands the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing.
• Knows evidence-based clinical guidelines in health care.

• Structured data search and key health care databases

• Knows basics of the structured data search.
• Understands the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing.
• Can assess the reliability of the searched information.
• Identifies evidence-based clinical guidelines in health care.

• Does not know basics of the structured data search.
• Does not understand the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing.
• Cannot assess the reliability of the searched information.
• Does not identify evidence-based clinical guidelines in health care.
