Objectives (course unit)
The aim of the course is to understand the public procurement process from the perspective of both the buying and selling organisation.
Students will be able to
• the public procurement process
• apply procurement law in public procurement processes
• prepare public invitations to tender
• analyse tenders and make procurement decisions
Content (course unit)
• Public procurement process, procurement law as applied, client liability
• Introduction to Cloudia
• Request for information, drafting an invitation to tender, replying to an invitation to tender.
• Analysing tenders and deciding on the award of the contract
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student will identify the public procurement process. The student will recognise the importance of procurement law and the role of the contracting authority. The student is able to prepare a public invitation to tender.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
The student knows the public procurement process and can apply what he/she has learned in practical situations. Students can apply procurement law in public procurement processes. The student is able to prepare a public invitation to tender. They will be able to analyse tenders.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student knows the public procurement process and can apply what he/she has learned in practical situations. Students can apply procurement law in public procurement processes. The student is able to prepare a public invitation to tender. The student is able to critically evaluate tenders, analyse them and make an informed procurement decision.
