Objectives (course unit)

This course deepens the understanding of the principles, key phenomena, methods, and various operational environments related to adult guidance.

Upon completing the course, students will:
• Understand the central principles and legislation guiding adult social work, and be able to apply them to enable client participation
• Identify different contexts for implementing adult social work, grasp the overall service system, and recognize development needs in the service system from a client-centered perspective
•Be familiar with the client work and communication methods required in adult social work, and act accordingly in client encounters and interdisciplinary settings
• Critically analyze societal trends and developments that impact adult social work

Content (course unit)

• Legislation related to social work and adult social work.
• Various operational environments in adult social work.
• The role of a social worker in adult social work.
• Work orientations and methods in the social work field, as well as ethical considerations in adult social work.
• Current phenomena and specific issues in adult social work

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Student
• can describe phenomena related to goals, theory, and define fundamental concepts
• has not justified choices, solutions, or theoretical perspectives thoroughly; theoretical reasoning is straightforward

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Student
• can apply theory and concepts, and organize information in relation to each other
• can narrow down problems and tasks, as well as justify solutions and choices
• can evaluate matters and examine them from different perspectives

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Student
• can analyze information and actions, connecting them to a professional context
• can find improvement opportunities and justify various approaches and alternative solutions
• can creatively devise new solutions or combine existing ones

Assessment methods and criteria

TARKENTUU ELOKUUN ALKUUN MENNESSÄ
Koko opintojakson arvosana muodostuu arvioinnin perusteina olevien kaikkien osasuoritusten arvosanojen keskiarvosta. Kaikki osiot tulee olla hyväksytysti suoritettuna. Arvosanojen korotus tutkintosäännön mukaisesti, kaikki osasuoritukset korotettava.

1) Kirjatentti (yksilö), 1 op, asteikolla 0-5.
2) Kontaktiopetus, 1,5 op, asteikolla suoritettu.
3) Toimintaympäristötehtävä 2 op, asteikolla suoritettu tai Palvelujärjestelmän analyysitehtävä (yksilö), 2 op, asteikolla 0-5.
5) Verkkokoulutus 0,5 op, suoritettu.

Opiskelija voi tehdä halutessaan toimintaympäristötehtävän omavalintaisessa toimintaympäristössä aikuissosiaalityön kentällä.

Palvelujärjestelmäanalyysi tehdään aikuissosiaalityön paikoissa. Opiskelijat valitsevat itse paikat.

Opintojaksoon sisältyy toimintaympäristötehtävä tai palvelujärjestelmäanalyysi yhteistyössä työelämän kanssa (2 op)

Toiminnallisten kokonaisuuksien suunnittelu ja toteutus yhteistyössä työelämän kumppaneiden kanssa.
