Objectives (course unit)

The student
- knows widely the principles and methods of fertility protection of youth and young adults
- has the knowledge of women´s health needs related to sexuality, fertility and reproduction
- knows how to support women´s sexual and reproductive health
- knows the risks and diseases threatening women´s sexual and reproductive health
- deepens the midwifery know-how in gynecology
- knows the care path of women who are victims of sexual violence

Content (course unit)

- fertility protection
- sexual and reproductive health support among women at different age
- early pregnancy complications and disorders and their treatments
- pregnancy termination
- infertility diagnosis and treatment
- gynaecological diseases and their treatment
- the care path of women women who are victims of sexual violence

Prerequisites (course unit)

The student must have completed the nursing studies except the Bachelor’s Thesis. The student cannot participate until Supervised clinical training 1-7 and all theoretical and clinical nursing studies are completed. The student has participated in Introduction to Midwifery -module.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student
- knows the main points of fertility support in youth and young adults
- the knowledge of women´s sexual and reproductive health needs are limited and does not fulfill the set objectives
- identifies the risks and diseases which threaten women´s sexual and reproductive health
- knows the women´s health promotion methods and midwifery practices but is not able to reason facts

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student
- has wide knowledge of fertility support in youth and young adults
- the knowledge of women´s sexual and reproductive health needs fulfills somewhat the set objectives
- is able to analyse the concepts of the risks and diseases threaten women´s sexual and reproductive health
- knows the women´s health promotion methods and midwifery practices and is able to choose the suitable methods and justify the selection

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student
- has the extensive knowledge of fertility support in youth and young adults
- knowledge regarding women´s sexual and reproductive health needs fulfills the set objectives
- is able to extensively analyse the risks and diseases threaten women´s sexual and reproductive health
- is able to creatively implement different methods in women´s health promotion, nursing and midwifery and is able to reason facts
