Objectives (course unit)

This course deals with the theoretical starting points and work orientations of social work as well as ethics and practice research in the social field.

Student
• is able to evaluate and utilize the theoretical starting points of social work
• is able to analyze and implement work orientations in social work
• master the ethical background of the social sector
• master customer orientation
• is able to evaluate different practice studies in the social field and in her own working context

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The main topics of the course are covered in assignments. The student recognizes and describes
the theoretical starting points of social work. Identifies concepts, but does not show much about
applying them to one's own thinking or to structuring one's social work practices and perceptions.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The main themes of the course are covered. The student is proficient in the theoretical background of social work. Student defines the concepts, and reflects them to their own thinking, experiences and perceptions. The student is able to analyze the work orientations of social work based on theoretical understanding in a comprehensive and versatile way and to apply the knowledge obtained in practice.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student has a clear and diverse understanding of the theoretical background of social work and is able to critically analyze the theoretical basis of social work orientations. The student is able to apply social theory in various contexts and is capable of critical theoretical reflection. The practical application of knowledge and theory is extensive and analytical.
