- The history and status of the Finnish social and health care system

- Reform of the Finnish social and health care system

- Basis for community work and functional orientations

- Understanding of the cultural backgrounds and social and health care structures of different societies.

The student can define the basis and structures of the Finnish social and health care service system and community work.

Good (3-4)

The student can construct the Finnish social and health care service system and its relations to authority and community activities.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Commendable (5)

The student understands the basis and principles of both the Finnish social and health care system and community work. Based on these, he/she demonstrates a strong ability to participate in the reform of social, health and educational organizations in society.

Assessment methods and criteria

The assessment focuses on the following:
- participation in contact teaching and group work. Evaluation scale: pass/fail
- Completing pre-assignment and intermediate assignments. Evaluation scale: pass/fail
- Completing presentation about specific field of community work or health and social service. Evaluation scale: 1–5
The evaluation is based on the criteria of this course and TAMKS's joint assessment framework. Compliance with task instructions and schedules is also taken into account in the assessment.
