Objectives (course unit)
The student knows the strength and deformation properties of materials needed in load-bearing structures.
He understands the relations between strain and tension. The student knows the structure
the influence of the shape, size and material of the cross-section on the stresses and deformations, and is able to calculate the strength measures of the reduced cross-section. The student is able to calculate strains and deformations of a straight rod for bending, shearing and torsion and their combinations, and to dimension a buckling rod. The student understands the forms of loss of stability in the structure, as well as the effects of holes, notches and openings on the capacity of the structure and the effect of combined stress on the allowed stress state. The student recognizes the forces of force, heat movements, swelling and shrinkage and their effect on the stress state of the structures.
Content (course unit)
Basic concepts of strength theory, basics of material theory. Hooken's Law, Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity, and Permitted Tensions. Quantities of cross-sectional geometry. Stress and strain in the strain. Dimensioning for normal force, bending, cutting, torsion. Design of combined stresses. Effect of combined stresses.
General stability management, buckling design, principles of buckling and buckling.
Effect of material weakening, notches, holes and openings. Forced Forces.

The student is able to identify and define the basics of the course and solve simple questions
applications that are similar to the tasks being handled.

In addition to the above, the student is able to choose the most suitable one by applying and comparing different options
policy and justify their choices.

In addition to the above, the student has a comprehensive understanding of the course topics and their use
