Objectives (course unit)

Students have advanced knowledge of the stylistic features, trends and repertory of a certain era, genre or other historical unity in music.
They are capable of applying the knowledge of music history into their own work practises as a musician or music pedagogue.

Content (course unit)

The course is implemened with varied contents elements of the following list:
- music drama history
- new music history
- chamber music history
- the history of the orchestra
- the history of the pop & jazz music
- other special theme

The student masters the course topics satisfactorily, but there are shortcomings in the consistent handling of historical music topics.

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

The student masters the course topics and their details and is able to critically deal with historiography. The student is able to compare the features and stylistic features of musical history eras and is able to deal with issues through different perspectives of music history research.

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

The student demonstrates excellent mastery of issues and their details. He / she is able to process historical information critically and comprehensively, applying it to his / her own professional substance knowledge. The student is able to compare the features and stylistic features of musical history eras and is able to deal with issues through different perspectives of music history research.
