Assessment methods and criteria

Attendance in lessons, active participation, quality of work for all exercises.
Grading is based on your work, effort, attitude, class participation, and attendance & punctuality. The degree of difficulty and risk-taking of your projects will be of utmost importance in grading.

Teaching methods

During the course every student will work with their own paintings in any order they like. In final feedback, each student will present at least 5 works using different painting techniques:
- Grisaille and scumbling (acrylic)
- Impasto (acrylic)
- Wet in wet and sgraffito (oil or acrylic)
- Glazes (oil or acrylic)
- Mixed media, experimenting with surface and texture
You can make more than 5 paintings, the boards for canvases you can use from room 20063.
- Presentation about your own painting goals and process
- Presentation about contemporary artist

Canvas preparing in Mediapolis independently. Each student must make 5 canvases from stretches and prepare at least 3 MDF boards.
At least 1 canvas or board must be primed with black gesso.
All canvases must be ready by Thursday, 22nd of February.
