Objectives (course unit)

The study course covers a wide range of different forms of forest use and the combination of different use goals, as well as the multi-purpose planning of forest use

After completing the course, the student:
- knows the methods enabling the defining the objectives for the sustainable use of forest and their integration
-is able to use these methods to solve issues that arise when forests are used in multiple ways

Content (course unit)

Ecosystem services and ecosystems approach. The gain from forest and evaluating different tyoes of gain. Defining the objectives in the planning process. Public participation. Spatial data analysis in the planning of forest use.Adaptive planning. Multipurpose forest palnning. Landscaping and visualizing. Grants, recompensation and agreements as a means of integration. Voluntary forest conservation. Main international forest certification schemes and their significance in guiding forest management.

The student performs the given tasks mechanically or needs a lot of help to complete them

The student applies appropriately but to some extent schematically the tools for coordinating and engaging the forest uses he has learned

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student applies and combines the methods for engaging people and integrating uses of forest in a creative, critical and appropriate way.
