Objectives (course unit)

The student
– knows the theoretical basics of anaesthesia methods used in nursing with surgical patients
– knows the meaning of anaesthesiology in anaesthesiological nursing
– knows the special features of elective and emergency patients in anaesthesiological nursing and knows the related challenges to patient care
– knows the basics of aseptic practice in patient care
– knows the anaesthesiological nurse´s responsibilities in perioperative patient care
– is responsible for his/her theoretical development
– knows the work rules related to his/her professional field and applies theoretical knowledge in various situations in anaesthesiological nursing
– knows the ethical principles of the profession and can apply theoretical knowledge in different situations
– is able to act as part of a collegial small groups and develops as a representative of his/her profession by evaluating his/her own work and by giving feedback to other group members
– is able to receive collegial feedback on his/her own work in the group
– knows the theoretical basics of anaesthesiology and different anaesthesia methods

Prerequisites (course unit)

First year and middle phase studies completed, at least 135 credits, including the basic level studies in the field of the optional professional studies, anatomy and physiology and three clinical practices.
