Objectives (course unit)

Student:
- is able to communicate about themselves, their education, work experience and tasks as well as use the industry-related special terminology.
- is able to use the English language in both spoken and written forms to carry out work-related tasks in
a multicultural context.
- is able to communicate in a customer-oriented way in various networks, negotiation and counselling situations.
- is able to adapt their communication style according to the communication partner in various
contexts.
- is able to seek and apply professionally essential, industry-related information in a critical and analytical manner.
- is able to follow the development in their field of study and participate in it via various channels (e.g. media, conferences, literature).

WHAT are the students able to communicate about their professional skills, working environment and tasks in the target language?
WHAT will the students need in order to successfully use the target language in a multicultural customer-oriented context?
HOW will the students develop their meta-skills and how will they find information related to their field of study?

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student understands the main points of the professional material in his / her field and is able to use basic aids to acquire basic information and convey it in an understandable way.
The student expresses himself in a simplified and inaccurate way, but usually in an understandable and professional manner.
The student works and communicates in a limited way, but tries to take into account the interaction situation.
The student pronounces inaccurately but intelligibly.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student understands the main points and most details of the professional material in his / her field and is able to apply the acquired knowledge.
The student expresses himself / herself clearly, professionally and fairly flawlessly.
The student acts and communicates properly and demonstrates situational awareness in interaction.
The student pronounces quite naturally and clearly.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student understands both the main points and the details of quite demanding professional material and is able to apply the acquired knowledge.
The student expresses himself effortlessly, accurately and in a variety of ways, using a style appropriate to the situation.
The student acts and communicates effectively, professionally, interactively and almost flawlessly.
The student pronounces naturally, clearly and quite nuancedly.
