Objectives (course unit)

Student is able to
- perform ECG registrations and pulmonary function tests reliably and in a client-oriented manner
- evaluate the reliability and quality of the results
- guide patients and health care professionals in clinical physiology and neurophysiology examinations, taking preanalytical requirements into account
- look after the patient's safety and wellbeing during examinations
- develop his/her cooperation skills in multiprofessional work environment and various interaction situations and is interested in developing laboratory work
- after the clinical training student masters the basic skills in clinical physiology and neurophysiology laboratory work and quality management

Content (course unit)

Depending on the clinical training place:
Pulmonary function tests
ECG registration and blood pressure measurement at rest and during clinical exercise tests
In clinical neurophysiology training students participate actively and assist in different examinations
Work community skills

Prerequisites (course unit)

The student must have passed 7B00EG34 Examination of the Heart and Circulation, 7B00EG35 Pulmonary Function Tests, Nuclear Medicine Procedures and Radiation Protection and the part of clinical neurophysiology (2 cr) of 7B00EG36 Clinical Neurophysiological Examinations and Patient Examination Seminar before the clinical training. The patient examination seminar (1 cr) continues after the clinical training.
