Objectives (course unit)
The student has skills to work within international innovation projects especially from the mechanical and production engineering point of view. Student has the basic skills in product development project planning, steering and management. Student can use a project management tool for project control. Student knows how to apply the innovation into principles and methods of product development process. Student has a comprehensive understanding of the different phases of an innovative product development process in an international product development projects. Student can use in practice innovative tools, working methods and computer software in product development projects in different phases of a product development project. Student is able to co-operate with other people in an international working environment within machine design and project management.
Content (course unit)
This course is new, project oriented “learning by doing” type course. The key idea is to make innovative design projects in teams. Focus is on project work and innovation; innovative (advanced) materials, innovative solutions, innovative (emerging) technologies, innovative design process, tools and methods. The topic of the project will be set by teams or given by our partners (company etc.). Target is to make development of a new product or improvement of existing products.

Excange student can participate non-stop to this course. The credit points are adjusted according the coverage of the project between 5-10 ECTS.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student applies the main principles, basic concepts and tools of project activity. The student is only somewhat motivated, takes responsibility for his / her own performance and gives and receives feedback. Understanding of the topic and is able to apply knowledge.

Students apply well the most important principles, basic concepts and tools of project activity, and are able to justify their learning. Students are clearly motivated, take responsibility for their own performance and are able to constructively give and receive feedback.Good understanding of the topic and is able to apply knowledge well.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The students understand broadly the main principles, concepts and tools of project activity. The student is able not only to justify and apply his / her learning, but also to critically evaluate his / her own solutions. Students are highly motivated, committed to taking responsibility for their own performance and are able to systematically use feedback as a tool for professional growth. Deep understanding of the topic and able to apply knowledge excellent. Can support and guide other fellow students (specialists).
