Chosen students plan the Formula Student project that will be executed during the following study year.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Students project skills are not good, e.g. schedule is not followed and results only partially useful. Working hours are below target or unevenly distributed among team members.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Student produce useful perspectives and ideas. The project covers all aspects and is well planned. Working hours are only little below target and are evenly distributed among team members.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The project plan can be used as it is. The project covers all aspects and is well planned. Working hours are are within target and are evenly distributed among team members. Team members have all participated in the work.

Location and time

The course is carried out according to the timetable. The lectures are considered as contact teaching.

Exam schedules

The seminar will be held in April. The exam will be held in March or April, and it covers the theory part of the course. There is a possibility to repeat a failed exam twice at a separately agreed time.

Assessment methods and criteria

Evaluation is based on the project plan (40%), the exam (40%) and the seminar (20%).

Teaching methods

The course consists of theory lectures, group work and a presentation seminar.

Learning materials

Moodle contains material for theory teaching (to be opened in the beginning of the course).

Student workload

Time use consists of:
- theoretical lectures 9 h
- guidance lessons as announced separately
- seminar presentations 3 h
Including independent work 81 hours in total.

Content scheduling

At the beginning of the implementation, theory lectures will be given (in Finnish). After that, the project topics are presented to the groups (in Finnish and in English if needed). The groups select the appropriate topic and start working on the project plan for it. Every couple of weeks, get together to see how the work has progressed. Finally, a seminar will be held where the groups will present their project plan to their clients.

There is no other way to execute.
