Objectives (course unit)

The student can name and describe the most important materials used in process industry and the most common chemicals and their properties used in chemical industry and bioproduct industry. The student can the choose the right chemicals for different purposes and understands the possibilities of circular economy in process technology.. The student can apply this knowledge in his/her professionals studies to come and also utilize this knowledge in the working life.

Content (course unit)

- Process industry materials: plastics and rubbers, iron, various steels and main metals with alloys
- Chemicals for the chemical and bioproduct industries: fillers, bulk adhesives, retention agents, optical brighteners, dyes, excipients
- circular economy
