Objectives (course unit)
The student
- knows the basic ethical values in social and health care;
- knows the professional ethical guidelines and principles of the nursing profession;
- is aware of his/her own values and is able to describe them regarding the values and ethical principles in health care;
- knows the principles of sustainable development globally;
- knows the meaning of ethics when related to media

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student recognizes ethical principles in social work. The student recognizes and describes the basis of ethics. Student can name the concepts, but does not yet apply it to one's own thinking. The student knows the values in social work and their significance for expertise in social field. The student has participated in teaching according to the course requirements.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
The student understands the basis of ethics profoundly and is able to identify and discuss ethical contradictions with the help of ethical concepts. Student identifies concepts and demonstrates their connection with their own thinking. The student knows the values of the social field and their significance for social expertise and is able to analyze social reality in a comprehensive and versatile way. The student has participated in teaching according to the course requirements.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student has a clear understanding of ethics and values as a basis for social work. Student is able to critically analyze ethical thinking in social work. Students are able to apply social values and ethical guidelines in different contexts. The student is able to reason and analyze critically ethical decision making. The student is capable of examining social reality from the perspective of several professional ethical concepts and has a broad and analytical approach. The student has participated in teaching according to the course requirements.
