Project Work for Citizens Participation and Co-operating in Society (6 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

Students
- deepen their understanding of the concept of social inclusion in a client group or operating environment
- know risk factors that weaken participation possibilities
- deepen their skills in client work methods that support resources, social inclusion and functioning ability especially in risk groups
- recognise their own personal skills and abilities in using methods with diverse client groups
- plan, implement and evaluate a project in small groups in cooperation with working life

- social innovations and cooperation with partners at TAMK
- planning, implementation and evaluation of own project in groups
- recording or video tape recording of a guidance situation or equivalent, self-reflection and feedback
- multidisciplinary project work, network

Can use the concept of inclusion when working with different client groups

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Knows the dimensions and factors of project development and inclusiveness development.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Manages project design, implementation and evaluation and can use project work to increase inclusiveness and social capital.

ORIENTATION AND START (Compulsory attendance) 12.9. at 9 - 14

22.9 at 9 – 12 and independent work of project groups at 13-16

Independent work of the project team every Friday at 9 - 16until 17.12. If necessary, will continue in January 2024.

January 2024 Tutoring session if needed.

Exam schedules

The final report of the project will be returned after the end of the project no later than February 28, 2024.

Assessment methods and criteria

- Concept paper return accepted/rejected
- Project plan return accepted/rejected
- The final report of the project according to TAMK's general evaluation framework on a scale of 0 to 5
- Attached is the working time tracking of each team member. If the number of hours spent is insufficient, it will affect the evaluation of the course by lowering the grade.
