Orientation to Clinical Training: Public Health Nursing for Maternity and Child Clinics (1 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

The student
- is able to carry out monitoring of pregnancy and is able to identify features of irregular pregnancy and direct the mother to further care
- is able to use the public health nursing care working forms and working methods individually in a versatile way, taking into account the needs of the family.
- is able to carry out monitoring and assessing the growth and development of a healthy child and to vaccinate children safely

Content (course unit)

- monitoring of maternal and fetal condition
- exercises in working methods
- screening tests for children of different ages

Prerequisites (course unit)

Participation in courses on Public Health Nursing: Pregnant and Neonatal Family and Public Health Nursing: Child and Family with Children

The student
- is able to design and implement the client’s monitoring safely
- works professionally and ethically

Fail
The student puts patient safety at risk

1 op = 27 h, josta 8 tuntia orientoivaa harjoittelua taitokeskuksella, itsenäinen työskentely ja ennakkotehtävien tekeminen 19 h.

- leikki-ikäisen asioiden puheeksiotto

Kokonaisuuteen liitty 8 vkon ohjattu harjoittelu neuvolassa ( yhdistelmäneuvola/ äitiys- ja lastenneuvola) keväällä 2023.
