Objectives (course unit)

Intercultural competence is a skill that has become increasingly essential for all walks of people in the society. The course is aimed to introduce students with various concepts and dimensions of intercultural competence. The practical focus of the course is to develop capability and skill for navigating and networking in the contemporary multicultural and globalized world. In addition, the course emphasizes on understanding how to deal with cultural shock, cultural diversity, become aware of cultural misunderstandings and sensitive to prejudice and stereotype.

There is no course test.
Alternatively, there is course project and its presentation.

Based on returned tasks & participation to online lectures.

Teaching methods

This is an online course. Study methods are followed:
Reading, individual task, group task, project and 3 online lectures in August.
Online lecture dates are: Monday, 15.8.2022, 10:00-13:00, Torstai, 18.8.2022, 10:00-13:00
& Tiistai 23.8.2022, 10:00-13:00.

In addition, student has proposed own opinion to the required tasks and discussed issues from multiple perspectives. Student has still scope for improving his/her performance.
